Thesis. English Teaching Profile At
Vocational High School In Yogyakarta City. Post Graduate Program of
Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University.
Two objectives of this research on English Teaching Profile are as follow: first, to describe the teachers’ techniques
in teaching English and Second, to describe the roles of teachers’ play in
teaching English.
The research is categorized as a
descriptive qualitative research. To collect the data researcher used
observation, and in- depth Interview.
The
result of this research produces of naturalistic study are:
- Mrs. Mady In teaching in the classroom she used review, checking,
cued narrative/Dialogue and
repetition drilling techniques than her role in the classroom as model,
manager and promoter.
- Mr. Karno
He uses reading content
explanation technique than combine with
computer internet as media in giving students’ exercise. His role in teaching
in the classroom were as facilitator and informant.
- Mrs. Nuni
She uses question-answer
display technique and picture as the media in explanation
and exercise. Her role’s in the classroom as promoter.
- Mrs. Mei
In teaching listening, she was not
included in brown’s taxonomy, there was no specific technique. But she claimed
that she used top down strategy and her
role’s as facilitator and supporter.
- Mrs.Lena
She
uses warm-up, role-play demonstration, Question-answer referential, explanation
technique and interview techniques. Her role supporter, monitor and informant in teaching English in the
classroom.
- Mrs. Siwi
In teaching material in the classroom, she uses
warm-up, review and question-answer display techniques and using media
computer, than her role as informant and facilitator
- Mrs. Dina
She uses warm-up, answer-question display,
and interview and wrap-up techniques in teaching in the classroom, than her
role are as informant and facilitator
- Mr.Santo
Teacher uses warm-up, question-answer display
techniques in teaching in the classroom and his role are as facilitator
and informant.
